A short film highlighting one of our home-made Halloween props. "Electric Chair Man" sits in a spooky looking chair, strapped in and ready to fry! When activated, he shakes violently, as if being electrocuted, kicking and screaming all the while (screaming not included in the film). To add to the "shocking" effect, two strobe lights underneath the chair complete the scene. It is composed out of a full man-sized dummy (home-made) sitting in the chair. The chair itself is propped up on four springs, which help it shake more easily. The shaking is provided courtesy of a motor with a heavy counterweight. A small speed controller circuit allows for adjusting the speed of the motor for optimum shaking. The rest of the circuit also triggers a relay which engages the strobe lights and a speaker, allowing a pre-recorded scream and electrical noise soundtrack to be heard. The legs appear to kick thanks to a strong windshield wiper motor which activates a rocker arm under the chair. This arm is attached to two rods which extend out the front of the chair and push the legs. The life-like dummy helps add to the scare factor since it looks like a real person, perhaps waiting to scare unsuspecting visitors.
