Dont worry. I almost killed someone after falling for like a jillion times. Spin attacks work wonders

Spin Attack. Lots of them.

I had luck with staying at the bottom and swinging at the tail when it came close. Usually when I was hit I just got knocked back to the wall. It might work for you.

just keep moving and keep away from the edge. if it's any help, sword spinning helps a lot.
and if you keep fail, just keep trying and slashing
