lol i met my boyfriend of 3 years now on an online game, went to his house in another state (he's from where i had lived several years before meeting him) and everything turned out just fine. granted my dad did drive me there and had a shotgun in the trunk to show my boyfriend when we got there.

The guy's name's Tyler, he's 20, we've been dating for a year, and we're getting married next summer. xDD He's from the states, I'm from canada, and he's came to visit me many times. I'm actually going to visit him This december. xDD

You can meet him in a more social place where there are more people. You don't have to bring your family with you.
