First freestyle dance competition ever!

My first ever open freestyle dance competition at Southbank Centre. :)

This video shows only quarter finals and finals. Semi finals unfortunately didn't get recorded due to technical problem. :/

I honestly had no expectation of making it even past the first round BUT somehow I made it to the finals! I didn't win but I am really happy that I entered at all (very nearly chickened out) and am amazed at how far I got. I also really enjoyed the experience. It was fun! :)

The comp was judged by Suga Pop (Electric Boogaloos) and was a freestyle comp - there were 15 of us to - lockers, poppers, bboys, house and waackers - each dancing their own style. He wanted to see how well we danced our chosen styles to whatever music was chosen for us. Tough!

Outstanding job Kazz!! Couldn't see much of the other dancers, but from what I did see they tend to count on their "tricks" while you improvised your movement following the flow of the music. Probably your experience in music through piano gives you a bigger picture of performance. Great job.

@bicente Thanks!! :D I'm glad the musical interpretation thing that came out.. its what I was trying my best to do. :) Yeh havent been doing as many hiphop classes these days.. but I'm keen to see where waacking takes me. :) Really enjoying it so far.
