Vodka Collins performing the title track of their album "Pink Soup" at Club 251 in Shimokitazawa Tokyo in 1997. The clip starts with an odd and funny song introduction by lead singer - guitarist Alan Merrill, whose on stage introductions are often obscure ramblings, and he doesn't let us down here in that department. Drums by the late Hiroshi Oguchi, bass by Mabo (Masayoshi Kabe) and rhythm guitar - harmony vocals by the one and only Monsieur Kamayatsu.
Vodka Collins started in the winter of 1971 and only stopped reunion tours and recording when drummer Hiroshi Oguchi became fatally ill with cancer in the new millennium, passing away in January of 2008. In spite of this sad turn of events, the music of the band lives on in these clips courtesy of the band's tour manager Mr. Jun Kaneko, who filmed many of the group's shows on their tours of Japan in the 1990s with his handi-cam. A special thank you to Mr. Kaneko for providing these video clips and preserving the performances.

I love the introduction. Merrill is out to lunch dinner and snacks.
