This is the table-top of the SOG Trident. To see the cutting test/demo, watch Part 2.

  • one question; This or recon 1 tanto?

  • @Sloane67665

The Tanto part is correct. But they didn't refer to mine as a "recon 1".

  • Have you ever handled a SOG Flash II ?

  • In a store I handled one. I also owned the Flash1 for a day, then returned it. I don't like the contour of the handle - that bulge in the middle. Both knives have that. I like the blades of those knives though. That's why the SOG Twitch2 is one of my favorites - same blade as the Flash1.

  • @BLUNTRUTH4U he meant which is better: the sog trident tanto or the cold steel recon 1 tanto

  • @rc5213 Edit: Also, what type of screw holds the blade in? I've had issues with my Gerber with that coming loose as well.

  • I'm a left-handed person looking at purchasing this knife, and I have a question regarding the reversible clip. What specific size Allen wrench would I need to remove and re-insert the post holding it in? Also, what size would I need to tighten the screws in the handle? My current Gerber has a tightening problem that lead to me using Locktite to hold the grips and clip on.

  • rofl, use a fixed blade for cutting fish

  • At least your camera has auto focus.

  • @MrHALOCOUST I got my dad a recon 1 for father's day. Then i went a got myself the trident

  • @Sloane67665 If you want a stronger knife go and buy cold steel recon 1 (also longer blade.)But want an assisted opening knife get the trident.

  • @BLUNTRUTH4U FYI, he was referring to the Recon 1 Tanto Knife and the Trident. Which one should he get?

  • Dude, just one thing - this knife is for self defense and killing, not for cleaning fish or other bullshits...anyone who wants to buy this knife DO NOT use it for fishing or peeling otherwise you will make unrecoverable damage.

  • i think you made a good point about the groove not cutting paracord well but i think that would be an ideal emergency feature in case of a car accident. just think, you drive and go off a bridge or are in a collision and you need out fast; your adrenaline will be so high and you will be so scared that you will be shaking and that is when you dont want to deploy a blade. too high of a risk for cutting yourself or your loved one when cutting the seat belt.
