Running an esp eclipse 2 AHB through channel 3. Stock pickups. Amp gain is about 75% and I boosted the input with a H&K Tubefactor on factor 1. Delay and verb is a TC G-Major running in parallel in the loop using a Suhr Minimix 1...the onboard amp effects were NOT used on this vid.

  • What do you think of this amp?

  • @mrnick003 Love it, great amp. That said, I'll be putting it up on ebay soon as I have switched to an axefx.

  • @99voltsdotcom how would you compare this to your Mesa Boogie Rect. it looks like you have here i'm debating between the 2 at the moment

  • @Sean2592 For a broad range of tones and as a stand-alone amp the H&K because it is super versatile and has built in effects. If you just want something easy, it's the one as you can have 128 midi presets and it nicely does just about any tone you can imagine. For killer gain the Mesa wins easily. The Mesa has a great sounding ch 3 & 4 for heavier stuff, but I could not get a good tone I liked out of ch 1 or 2 for crunchy or clean. In fact, the clean I did not like at all.

  • @99voltsdotcom Is Axe-fx really as great as everyone says it is?

  • @CleverNameHere81 No...it's better! Serously, it is pretty incredible. Sounds 90-95% as good as any amp it models and on some it sounds better than the actual amp. Add incredible, usable effects and it plugs right into your pc for killer recorded tones. Forget it, it kills everything.

  • do you think the ESP Eclipse is better than lets say, a Gibson Les Paul Studio or Standard?

  • @99voltsdotcom I have a friend who brought over his (the original version, not the II) and plugged into his tube amp clean channel. I thought his clean was pretty dang clean (a bit sterile sounding though) with a very clean chorus and reverb. His distortion patches left something to be desired as far as warm and fat tone goes ...to me anyway. I liked my ADA MP-1 tones through the clean of my Marshall TSL100 better. His crunch tones were too buzzy/brittle/presencey/sterile sounding to me.

  • tone-wise reminds more of their Horizon and than Les Paul

  • That's not music

  • Great vid! I have exactly the same guitar, does your have pretty sharp edges on the body?

  • you really shred!!! man ur awesome!!!

  • @99voltsdotcom I've heard of people using it live, completely replacing their old amps and gear. Is that possible? And if so, what would you need?

And thanks for being so cool and replying haha.
