Well, it's time to get this done! After widening the holes for the new buttons and fitting them in, I had to focus on modifying the basin area to fit the new stick. Speaking of it, I even took my time to roughly explain what's going on with the 8-way restrictor that I mentioned in the first part of this video. Other than that, wiring everything up was a piece of cake, although I had to check the pinout of the new stick, because it was not identical to the old one.

Parts I used:
1 x Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y stick
1 x Sanwa JLF Restrictor GT-Y
1 x Seimitsu Ball LB-49 transparent grip
6 x Sanwa OBSF-30 buttons

I like the end result a lot, and no, I didn't do a fancy paint job or anything, I only wanted to improve the hardware.

In case you stil haven't watched part 1, now is the best time to do so: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBqaJTI6_vs

Enjoy!^^

  • Great mod! i like alot,i think i will have to give this ago myself,Thanks!

  • Great job.. very well done!!

  • hey so i can use a sanwa joystick but put a seimitsu mesh ball & it will work???

  • @goldminekid Not really, just a regular drilling attachment. The only thing to keep in mind is that you better start out with a small one so the holes don't get too big. Don't worry, it's not that difficult to do. =)

  • @TheronInc: is there specific attachment you use on the dremel, like for drilling the holes for the screws? that's one of the only parts I feel uneasy doing with my arcade stick.

  • the stick switches looks like a swastika :)

  • Oh! i have this Stick somewhere??? Gotta go Digg through the Closet now!.

    Nice tutorial! Very helpfull

  • also if i wanted to not buy a new stick could i still just put the 8 way restrictor on the original stick and get the same movement and flexibility? or no?
