Nick Scarangella's Original Hemi Cuda, delivered to his family in 1971. This car was authenticated by Galen Govier in September 2008. His report included the following information: There were 107 '71 426 HEMI cuda 2 door hardtops built to spec's for the U.S., 59 4Spds and 48 Automatics, plus 11 Canadian. As of September, 2008, this car is #1 of 11 in the VIN sequence of all 1971 Plymouth 426 Hemi Cuda 2 Door Hardtops accounted for at the Hamtramck, MI plant and built to spec's for CANADA. 1971 Plymouth 426 Hemi Cuda 2 Door Hardtops were only built at the Hamatramck, MI plant.

Nick passed away September 21, 2008, shortly after meeting Galen and having the car authenticated. The car was sold shortly before Nick's death. Nick is driving the car in this video. There are two videos, which are now his last cruise night.

  • One of the best looking and sounding cudas on youtube!

Thank you for taking time to view this tribute to Nick' car. If you go to Maple Leaf Mopars there are more photos of the car on the Nick Scarangella Tribute page put there by the site's webmaster just after Nick died.

It's good to see so many views and that others can enjoy hearing and seeing the car. When people take the time to make a comment, it comes into my email and makes me glad I had that little bit of video to put up for him -- his virtual cruise night, I guess.

  • Hi The car belonged to my husband. It is called Tawny Gold and it was the original colour. The car is more valuable because this colour was the original and rare. If you are interested in knowing why the colour was chosen, you can do a search for the Nick Scarangella Tribute Page. The story is on the website Maple Leaf Mopars . In the sunlight it sparkled and was much prettier in real life than a video can really show.

  • That car's gotta be worth 6 figures.

  • What an amazing car! Fantastic color! I love GY9! All the best!

  • wow man your cuda is amazing, the color verrry cool. i own for my part a triple black 1974 360 4 speed cuda.. a nice ride but nothing to compare with your ride :)

  • @scarange

I am sorry for your loss. I am glad however your husband picked a tasteful color of the time. Every Mopar you see that has been restored or built lately has that horrid lime green color or PLUM CRAZY. This is tasteful and correct for the period. No gaudy billboards either. Gorgeous 'Cuda.

  • Beautiful car. Great color!

  • @scarange

It's a shame that people like the one who used the expletive for the car color try and ruin such wonderful postings.

It must of just been an awesome day when he received the news about his car and so very glad he drove it.

Thank you for sharing this very personal moment with us and forgive the ones who don't know any better.

  • very nice
