Global warming has begun to affect people and the natural environment in Bangladesh. Due to location, low incomes, and limited institutional capacity, as well as greater reliance on climate-sensitive sectors like water and agriculture, Bangladesh became the biggest victim of climate change.
No water, no power -- life appears to be in mounting stress in coastal areas of Bangladesh. Because of several natural disaster and man-maid activity like commercial shrimp cultivation resulted water salinity into mainland around many coastline districts. People have to gather safe drinking water from faraway places. Biodiversity and agriculture both are now under attack by saline water and the change of climate.
Many coastal people migrated to nearest district town, many moved to Dhaka. These rootless people changed their usual profession to get settled in a migrated place. Every day thousands of people migrate to Dhaka and start living in slums or on street under open sky. People from slums are drinking contaminated water and as a result huge sufferings from several diseases.
The presence of Arsenic in ground-water is affecting the people of rural areas those who are largely dependent on this source of water for drinking, agriculture, feeding fisheries and livestock. Bangladesh being a river oriented country is largely dependent on natural sources of water for living. Thus the scarcity of safe water and global warming is a threat towards the sound life of the people of Bangladesh.
