Dr. William Hsiao, an American economist, is the K.T. Li Professor of Economics at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, MA. He is internationally recognized for his work on health care financing and for being the major architect behind Taiwan's single payer national health care system. He is currently consulting with the state of Vermont to help design three options for covering all people one of which is a single payer option. In this video, he testifies before the Maine Legislature's Joint Select Committee on Health Care Reform.
