The "Next Generation Diversity" workshop took place on Wednesday, January 28, 2010 in the Kelly Conference Center at Iowa Health Des Moines. Over 100 participants attended the workshop. Joe Gerstandt presented a new framework for understanding diversity and made a strong business case for why and how diversity can be used to drive innovation and success in corporations, organizations, and personal networks.
Diversity and inclusion have always been important, but because of the way business is changing, they are becoming critical aspects of how business gets done. As 2010 begins, we hit the "re-set" button on the diversity and inclusion conversation and recalibrated our approach. This engaging and interactive workshop provided participants with a deep-dive examination of diversity and inclusion and what they mean to the success of our organizations and communities today.
This workshop was presented by the Central Iowa Society of Human Resource Management's Diversity Committee and was facilitated by Joe Gerstandt, a keynote speaker, workshop facilitator and blogger.
