@Thekitty0706fan ...Technical Sergeant Rick Smith was on the Air National Guard pararescue (parajumpers, or PJs) team that launched out of Westhampton Beach, NY, the night of the storm. TSgt Smith was lost at sea after he and his crew aborted an attempt to rescue a Japanese yachtsman 270 miles southeast of the Long Island coast. Earlier, TSgt Smith and his crew had rescued the three man crew of the sailboat Satori.
