Frank Shamrock - The Prototype of Mixed Martial Arts
Frank Shamrock was one of the first fighters to become a versatile martial artist instead of just relying on one discipline. A true innovator, he successfully blended wrestling, submissions, and striking into one cohesive fighting style. Bill Goldberg once aptly described Shamrock as the original Georges St. Pierre. He wa named "Fighter of the Decade" for 1990's by the Wrestling Observer, "Best Full Contact Fighter", by Black Belt magazine (1998), and three time "Fighter of the Year" by Full Contact Fighter Magazine.

(renamed the UFC Light Heavyweight championship) - retired as the five-time defending undefeated champion.

Frank Shamrock should be in UFC Hall of Fame, his brother Ken is there and Frank was even better than him. True Legend of the sport.

@ManKindBMX93 UFC hall of fame, no... For the sport of MMA he has done so much and should be deeply credited but for the UFC he has done little other than Kevin Jackson for the first title shot and then defend it four times. You dont get put in a hall of fame just for fighting 5 times. If anyone should be in there its someone like Tito Ortiz being one of the only fighters to have NEVER fought outside the UFC. Like frank he was once the woulds pound for pound and had the most title defences at LH

Frank should be in UFC hall of fame just because Dana doesn't like the guy doesn't mean he shouldn't be in it he was the first UFC light heavy weight champ and he was undefeated in UFC WAR!! Shamrock!
