I love Alanis - but this wasn't the best preformance I've heard! Sorry, no disrespect, but I thought Whitney, Aguilera and Beyoncé did it better.

@krzifngrs That's like saying lasagna should taste more like chocolate cake. They're both amazing but as different as different can be. Why compare the two? Alanis's voice is supposed to be more raw and less smooth than Whitney's.

@AdThaDon2k8 Her speaking voice doesn't really have an accent -- at least not compared to what I'm used to, having grown up in NY state. But she does pronounce some words differently while singing.
BTW, I am soooo happy to finally hear a normal rendition of the Star Spangled Banner! Seems like every singer feels like they have to slow down the tempo to a painful pace as they draw out and "jazz up" every other note! Alanis's version is a breath of fresh air.
