A quick tribute to Keith Tkachuk-
"Its always tough after youve played that long, but I know its the right decision", said Tkachuk, who recently turned 38. "Im honored that I was able to play that long, and the thing Im most proud of, I get to retire as a St. Louis Blue. That means the world to me."

Tkachuk, who is wrapping up his ninth season with the Blues, said that injuries, in part, have led to his decision. He lost four teeth earlier this season after he was hit in the mouth by a puck. He displaced his left pinky finger, which required surgery, during the Olympic break.

"My health over the last little bit . . . Ive had some bad luck, Tkachuk said. I understand that Im 38 years old and you dont feel like you used to, when you were 25. Its tough when you do something that long and its finally over, but its been a great ride."

  • One of the greatest Winnipeg Jets of all time, Big Walt! Thanks for the memories!

Winnipeg will always love you Keith!

  • @bobster231 Thanks for watching! It's always cool to hear from a Jets fan.

  • Sweet, 500 views! Thanks everyone and GO BLUES!

  • Hmmmm, I just noticed I didn't put any pictures of Walt playing for Phoenix in this vid. No offense, 'Yotes fans!

  • Always my favorite to watch! Sad to see him go, hopefully he sticks around in Blues management!

  • @chipsrule12 That's an interesting thought. I could see him joining the Blues front office, but only after a long break. He is going to be spending a LOT of time with his family for the next couple of years. Who knows, maybe he'll return in an official capacity?

  • This was a cool video! I'd give it 5 stars if I could!

  • @kingforaday22 Yeah, it's a sad day. During the game last night, Keith was in the booth with Kelly and Pang, he sounded very emotional. Tomorrow vs the Ducks will be his last game.

  • This isn't even a video, I clicked on it to see highlights, not photos

  • @BallerInferno93 I'll miss it , too. At least we got to see two of the best Americans to ever play the game.

  • I will miss the days of Tkachuk soooo much, not to mention Mike Modano is also retiring this week, this is such a sad week for the world of hockey.. It just won't be the same

  • @joe3stix That was pretty sweet! It was so cool how he skated around the rink with his kids and waved bye to everyone.
