this is very cool, but i do recommend everyone interested to check out the original version with analog synths. extremely state of the art for the time

David Tudor was a very interesting composer and experimenter. The world of sound is much better because of him and John Cage.

It is really great to see music in the spirit of Tudor's Rainforest.

It's like a circus of circuit-bending monkeys.

This is so cool. I'm an intern under an electroacoustic music composer, and this is right up my alley.

Interesting performance. I'm wondering which performance notes you used, as there is (AFAIK) no score, per se, to any of the Rainforest series. The only real complaint I have is that the videographer doesn't stay long enough on any one thing to really see what's being used and how (too many edits, I guess). Other than that, really great work! Wish there were more things like this on YouTube!

The videographers were in fact audience members who were given the camera - these included an arthritic elderly woman and a hyperactive infant, hence the attention deficit. Glad you liked it nonetheless! No performance notes were used, it was all improv. The only configural connection between this and Tudor's work is the usage of random objects as speakers via transducers. We used 'Rolen Star' transducers (same type Tudor used).
