It's funny how people are hating on Scions when THOUSANDS of hot rodders out there turn sub $5K Mustangs, Hondas, F-Bodies, DSMs etc into nasty street & strip cars.. The tC is the same idea, just worth more since its new.. It comes with an engine on par with Hondas K24A1 or A4.. just no amazing i-VTEC K20 head swaps.. N/A it won't rip but with a good turbo setup & forged internals, they make ~340 whp on 12 psi.. equal to B18C1 Hondas. That'll give you 12 sec 1/4's, 30 mpg & cheap insurance!
