  • It's not an ode to drugs at all. They're talking about people doing drugs as an alternative to what people used to do when they had problems.

  • This is great in every way, no matter the view point. It is great to see the two together- wish I could just hang out in their living room.

  • @JohnQ1127 Well considering Bea Arthur was one cool bitch, I don't think this was anything of any significance other than that they were trying to make people laugh. And look at Rock Hudson. He has no real ammo for being too much of a critic considering he was one of the first Hollywood celebrities to come out of the closet. What a barn burner he was.

  • @LordKalbert, The song is actually from a broadway musical from the 70's and it's actually old people criticizing the drug use of the time period and casting a dirty eye to it. But again like I said the hypocrisy in the song is hilarious as if drinking a martini and smoking a lucky strike is safer or less dangerous than smoking marijuana.

  • @JohnQ1127 I don't think they mean to be politically correct. They just mean they grew up with tobacco and alcohol and now today there's so many different widespread drugs that "everybody today is turning on." I think its pretty cool that they're acknowledging different forms of drug use and they're not casting a dirty look to it,

  • @skinz00,

Well the whole thing is nostalgic hypocrisy and BS because they're talking about alcohol and tobacco as if those things weren't drugs. Then on top of that they're drinking during the whole song as they're complaining about contemporary drug use.

  • Nice performance. I know that Beatrice Arthur (from Golden Girls) was a wonderful

Actress, from watching a lot of Golden Girls sitcom. Her, & Rock Hudson made a

    decent Show.

  • They don't make them like this anymore.It's really a shame.LOL.
