This Audition video was shot in May of 1987. The first part of this video is my actual audition tape that I sent into "Late Nite". If you look real close at the second time I blew a flame, you can see that I accidentally light the top of my head of fire. The second part of the video was a spur of the moment road trip to Indiana University in 1980 something?. We went down to see the little 500 and party with some friends. A number of us were in a parking lot of an apartment complex drinking beers and blowing gasoline flames. I heard someone laughing behind me and when I turned around, it was Adam Sandler. At the time he was a cast member on "Saturday Night Live" and was on assignment for MTV News. He was hanging out with a film crew trying to capture the party atmosphere. He asked me if I would be interested in having him interview me and then film me blowing a flame. I thought it was an amusing idea. The second part of the video starts off with Adam Sandler looking into the camera and saying something funny about his week end experience. Right after that, MTV goes into the hip clips of the week from the little 500. These hip clip videos played about every 30 minutes throughout the week end. My video is second from last. I blew a 30' flame. The original interview with that I film with Adam Sandler was viewed a number of times that week end also. I only had 1 VCR copy of the interview and one of my friends accidently taped over it one night. The third (and last) part of the video is my actual show appearance on "Late Night". After I sent in the audition tape, I called the Production Manager that was in charge of the Stupid Human Tricks segment. I kept telling this lady that I could hop on a plane and head to New York at any time on any day. I think I wore her smooth. Two weeks after I sent in the tape, I received a first class airline ticket to NYC for the following day. For what its worth, I was paid $700 for my first appearance and another $500 for a rerun that I knew nothing about. What a frickin gas.
