  • @NathansBackwoods  I did not pay anything, it was in the family.

  • No it is a gear set up. Two GM 3 speed gear boxes are bolted up to a 4 speed VW bus transaxle. This gives enough reduction to run the engine at a high RPM while allowing the tractor to move at a pace reasonable for cutting grass. The foot lever actuates the stock Wisconsin clutch.

  • Pretty neat! I wanted to someday build a little tractor using a Wisconsin TJD engine. They're my favorite air cooled engines.

  • Is that a hydro-drive set-up?

    Id love to know what components you used in that tractor. The only thing I recognize is the Wisconsin engine.
