Daphne despised Apollo because Eros (the Cupid) penetrated her with an arrow of lead while Apollo was struck by the dart of love to Daphne.

The Cupid wanted makes fun with the god of sun so Daphne as if by magic didn't stand Apollo's presence and preferred turn into a laurel tree than be possessed by the greek god.

How he can't make her his wife he he took the crown of laurels as his personal symbol.

  • @SIRA063 I lolled

But then I remember how Bernini made the fontains etc for the Illuminati who kinda where secret scientists, so this could be a hidden message xD.

  • isnt apoolo of the sun? maybe bernini tried to show how trees need sunlight.

  • In hindsight, Daphne realized a roll in the hay with the studly Apollo would probably have been preferable to having dogs lift their legs to her for eternity.
