My fave Chumba era is about 93/94 when they got pop absolutley right, with the Anarchy album. That is a solid peice of work that record. And the live shows and musicianship got a little tighter. So much so, that these days, they are so slick! Really intricate well done harmonys and excellent musicianship. This new folk era feels right for them. Watching this early punk era is like watching a totally different band. Great though. Pictures of Starving Children is still a great sounding record
Why would you make a comment like that? Is it really a competition... Anarcho punk wouldn't have been the same without Chumba and a lot of other bands who did something different and a least they didn't just mimic crass which a lot did.
Tubthumping is a fucking amazing record. Give it another chance. I don't see how anyone could say it's a bad album after giving it a few good close listens.
From USA it took a long while to be aware of this band. Intelligent talented bands with a worthwhile message don't get a lot of promotion here. Thanks
@whisperingfox Yeah - its like watching a totally different band. I also think that the new folk era is the right thing for them.

Crass did agit-prop better.

The 1st LP still puts a lump in my throat due to it's passion and sincerity.
Later stuff just didn't do much for me.
