have an 08 si and mine pops out of 3rd some times and also doesnt want to go into reverse. it feels like something is blocking it but after i put it in and out of reverse a bunch of times it will finally go in. i brought it to honda and they just said it was "driver error" ive just been living with it for the time being. it does get annoying though.
@MrSikwithit .......not 100 percent sure....but i know the clutches arent overly great in those models.....more or less you would have to go to your local honda dealer and ask them ...because they wont come right out and tell you that there is a recall.....i had some guy tell me in the liquerstore parking lot that there was a recall on my third gear haha
@Allaby I have a 2007 honda civic lx sedan and I am also having problems shifting but with second gear. Its almost like theres a grind, but its not everytime. Id say about 40% of the time. Is there a recall on that model?
You need a clutch master cylinder!!!!... I have an 06 si and I tried shifter bushings, base bushings, Trans fluid and it all helped but was not a fit. Replace the Clutch master cliunder with a 2000 SI CMC and it will run perfect!
@cragmac1000 I had the same issue until I drove this car for a year... after that I am able to shift properly with no problems and do it during daily driving and hard launches. I have also changed the following parts:
@pkscrs , you were not listening or paying attention; it's hard shifting from 2nd to 3rd gears, and downshifting from 4th to 3rd gear. There is nothing wrong with the clutch in those cars its the material and design of the third gear synchros.
3rd gear was recalled.......go to honda they will fix third gear for free it was a recall !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they wont tell u themselves u have to go in i just got mine fixed works like a charm z!!!!!

@Get1337 agreed I drove a 2008 SI yesterday it was the greatest clutch I've ever felt. Honda does it again!

You take it out of gear before you have the clutch completely down
