McGwire's 98' season, which was his best, doesn't even begin to compare to Bonds's 01' season. Both used steroids---fine, that's irrelevant in this conversation. McGwire .752 slugging, .470 on-base%, hr every 7.2 at bats. Bonds .863 slugging, .515 on-base%, hr every 6.5 at bats. Mcgwire struck out 150+ times. Bonds? 93 times. To top it all off, 2001 wasn't even Bonds's best season as a hitter, 2004 was, and 2002 was right on par with his 01' season in regards to hitting performance.
