@PyROphantasie True, but this video didn't necessarily talk about online education. Aasimov tends to go all over the place - it's just his style.
There's other forms of automation that benefit education than just puttin' it online. Ie. Printing of books. Production of ink. Etc. Internet can also be used to locate better teachers, so that the hiring and screening processes are easier to find eligible candidates for a job. Etc.
People who disliked had a robot take der incredibly fulfilling jobs in the 'screwing engineer department (Job description: Put the screw into the car chassis. Repeat.)'. And now they're fucked.
Has all the schools academic videos on one site, including Khan Academy, Standford, Yale, Harvard, MIT etc, etc.
Still, being in a classroom is a far better place to learn (for some people), for me at least it's far too easy to stop and get sidetracked (fully intending to start up again) than it is when you have a set class schedule to attend to, with homework due on set dates.
People need teachers to push them and motivate them, one on one is the best option, if possible.
the khan academy for a huge step towards world peace and math and scientific literacy.
