A U.S. congressional panel has criticised BP's chief executive and his firm's handling of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. They said the British oil company acted with "astonishing complacency" and ignored warning signs. It comes after BP agreed to a 20 billion dollar compensation fund for victims of the leak... and the announcement that shareholders won't be paid any further dividends this year.

  • As far as I'm concerned the entire Republican party should be right up there with him, along with every Washington agencyman going back to Carter, and all the spineless Dems who, so scared to make mad the already mad right wing, didn't bother to make sweeping changes once they came into power. The nature of the beast is to bilk what they can from the innocent. The wolves kill the sheep, but it is the shepard's job to stop them.

And for eight years the wolves themselves guarded the sheep.

  • If they were, oh lets say Japanese they would know what real honor is and what really should be done.

What a nice display for them to put on for the public. All the worlds a stage. I never expected such theatre in the theatre of war.

as always rt does a great job. they remind me of something we used to have. journalism.

  • @METALMAN4Wii

American workers for BP screwed up. Ever thought of that?

  • @dumbengr What's wrong is for 90 days BP polluted our ocean and killed thousands of fish and animals that live in it. not to mention cost hundreds of people there jobs that's what's wrong with America and btw it was BP's fault. that wanted to save $500.000 which is like $5 to them by not have a shut off valve and caused over a billion dollars in damage. also know as over 2000 times what they wanted to save.....!

  • So Big Corporation and the Government are screwing the little guy? Big Shock, time to wake up folks, this is the same story different year. Check out the folks in Alaska STILL fighting in court to get payment for their losses and sicknesses in the Exxon Valdez spill, even after being court ordered to pay out $5 billion in damages they refused and are appealing every chance they get.And still 20 years later Oil is still polluting those waters, So dont wait for theses fat cats to grow a heart.

  • but how many fools are there ?
