Mortdale to Oatley Park. Georges River, Sydney, Australia. Slide Show in HD.
One of my favorite walks. The track through Oatley Heights Park use to be swampy and over run with weeds.
Although somewhat artificial, the walk goes through a very pleasant creek and lake area. Level access is available from Pamela Ave, near Hurstville Golf Course.

  • I live near Oatley Park so really enjoyed this slide show!

  • One of my favorite walks. I remember Kiln Bay as a swamp and before the bridge to Peakhurst was constructed.

I go to the Hot Bread shop opposite Mortdale Station. Best pastry in St. George area.

    Thanks for comment.

  • We also shop at the Hot Bread shop at Mortdale and, I agree, they have terrific pastires and pies at very reasonable prices. The owners of the shop are also very nice, friendly people.

  • I am not alone. Thanks

    Sorry about the newer identity.

    THanks for the posting.

    Graffiti is everywhere in Sydney.

This is one of my favourite walks. Thanks for watching .

  • Nice one, felt a bit wield with some of your photos a few meters from my house, but well down.Shame about the graffiti in such a nice area, would love to catch one of these idiots in the act as it would be a great excuse to beat some sense in to them.

  • Strange as it may seem, I have yet to down to the river south from where you use to live. I go to Oatley Park about once a year, usually in winter. Most of Mortdale to Rockdale near the stations is three story flats but that is progress

I don't think most of The SHIRE and St. George area people really realize what a delightful area they life in.

    Thanks for reply.

  • I grew up in Douglas Haig St, left in '76, but the area still looks nice. Some of the houses close to the river look like mausoleums though, that much looks different. All seems so familiar, the whole lot of it.

  • Hi Kathy

beautiful part of the world! you are very lucky to live there!
