Johannesburg, South Africa (Sports Network) - Brazil and North Korea are polar opposites in every possible way when it comes to soccer.

Brazil is the most decorated nation on the planet with five World Cup titles and a sixth potentially on the way, while North Korea has been to just one World Cup tournament, in 1966.

The South American powerhouse enters the World Cup as the top-ranked team according to FIFA, with North Korea sitting in 105th.

So when the two sides meet on Tuesday at Ellis Park Stadium, most people are expecting a wipeout.

Brazil is one of the favorites, along with Spain, to lift the World Cup in South Africa, and despite the omissions of notable players such as Ronaldinho, Adriano and Pato, manager Dunga still brings a loaded team to the competition.

Kaka will be the chief playmaker in midfield, while Luis Fabiano and Robinho are among a talented group of strikers.

But the biggest difference between this Brazil team and previous additions is that they have adopted a more defensive approach as opposed to the free- flowing style that has become associated with the team.

Goalkeeper Julio Cesar is among the best in the world with a talented defense led by Maicon and Lucio in front of him.

So while Brazil may not be as flashy, they have still produced results, winning the 2007 Copa America tournament as well as last summer's Confederations Cup, which was played in South Africa.

Group G also features the Ivory Coast and Portugal, who promise to provide a much tougher test for Brazil, while North Korea is merely a speed bump on their way to the next round.

  • @eoinkin But I like it that way. I always enjoy watching only when cute blonde girls reporting, of course on every situation. Because they are pretty, they make me feel happy and inspiring. This is part of lookism.

  • oh you are hot but I hate hearing girls reporting on football sorry!
