The spirit guiding you was there at the crucifixion. Read for yourself:
Matthew 27:39-43, Mark 15:29-32, Luke 23:35-37.
Bad guys and the nails they put through Christ's hands and feet were not what held him to the cross. Had he so wished, he could've called a multitude of the heavenly host with swords of fire to vanquish his adversaries and shut the mouths of the mockers.
So what held him there in agony bearing the weight of the sins of the world?
His incredible, unconditional love for you & me.

Not every Amish or Mennonite church is like this. It appears that maybe this church's leaders have gone astray from the bible and focused too much on the "way of life" instead of the Lord's way of life. It can happen but watchers should not feel that all Amish and Mennonite church's are like this because they are not. I know and am friends with Ministers, deacons and bishop's of an Old Order Mennonite group and their church is nothing like what is mentioned here.
