Ingredients:
Sweet Rice aka sticky rice
Roasted, Dried seaweed
Sugar
Salt
Rice Vinegar
Dashi
Wasabi Powder
Tamari Soy Sauce
Optional: sesame seeds, avocado
Steps for making the sushi:
1.Fill a bowl 2/3 full of sweet rice depending on how much sushi you want to make.
2.Wash the white off the rice. Use warm water and wash it until the white stop coming off.
3.Then let the rice soak on water for 40 minutes to an hour.
a.During this time, you have a few things to prepare
4.Prepare the Wasabi by mixing equal parts wasabi powder and water. Make sure you get the good wasabi with the mustard in it. Let it sit.
5.Mix Rice Vinegar, Sugar, Salt, and Dashi. The sugar is half the amount of rice vinegar, a dash of salt, and a dash of dashi.
6.Prepare and cut fish and avocado. Cut then into pieces that will fit in the roll.
7.After letting the water sit for 40 min, Put just enough water to cover the rice and put it in the microwave foe 3 min, stir, then another 3 min. Place a paper towel on top to keep moisture in. The most important step!
8.Then mix in the rice vinegar mix you prepared already into the rice. Then let it sit to become sticky
9.Spread the rice on the seaweed on your rolling mat and add fish and avocado.
10.To make a different version of the roll
a.First wet your hands them take rice and ball it into an oblong shape
b.Place fish on top of rice
c.You can then wrap a piece of seaweed around the entire roll. Kawaii!
11.To cut the sushi, make sure to wet the knife.
12.Then enjoy!

  • 1) PixieVixxen, you shouldn't cook your rice in a microwave. You should invest in a rice cooker, it rice comes out better than on a microwave and stove.

    2) PixieVixxen, if you like sushi; you should come on down to my channel for something called "the Sushi Library"; it comes in volumes. You will be like a little kid in Toy's R Us. :-)

  • @dafranx great! I like it in the microwave. This sushi comes out delicious!

  • i love sushi ^_^ had a bad first time experiance eating it at a sub par resturant..got food poisoning >_<..but that's why i like the idea of making your own so much you know it's freshly made :) great vid.

  • @k0ga777 oo that's very unfortunate :(

  • Om-nom-nom-nom-nom-NOMMMMM!!! I like sushi. ^__^

I don't think I'd have a clue how to make rice right without my rice cooker. O.o

Isn't it funny that many asians wouldn't know how to make rice if they were in the US? :P

It's better to do the "kawaii" style rolls (nigiri sushi) with two hands. Use 2 fingers (pointer&middle) from your right hand to compress the rice in your left hand. That act is actually called "nigiru", so that kind of sushi is called nigiri sushi.

    Looks yummy!! ^_^

  • @ToLokyo look at you teaching and me learning =~.^=
