I totally agree with his favourite horror scene, it was the butler's cold cold eyes and stare, he actually stares Jack down in that scene, he becomes totally evil, it's epic. Great review. I think the actress was playing a role really well, it was the character who could be annoying but I think they needed her to be weak, frail, shrilly, and at times simple for the part. A different woman kind of woman would have left Jack and the hotel sooner.

Shelley Duvall's face always terrified me in this movie, she is one scary looking lady to me. The reality is is that given her wt hair look she looked like some sort of animal carcass on screen. Luckily she winged her performance off of Jack's stunning performance and was able to not drag the film at all. Great review, you did a solid to a horror epic. By the way, did you get any of my packages yet? I need to be ready to type you a tome.

Stanley Kubrick was a great director, he did premium films.
