We'll in one of the live versions damien talked about the story behind the song. And he said it was about "Spending a little bit to much time in your room as a teenager" So i think that really clears up what it's about :p

@MrDevil0910 In this version it seems he is saying "bishop" not "fishing". In another version he says that God gave me a rod...for fishing. Like biblical reference.

@MrDevil0910 just a metaphor... he's "fishing for girls" with the 'rod' (meaning THAT male body part, of course) god gave him... ;) basically, he's saying he masturbates to keep himself in good shape for when he'll fish/catch a girl...

mm ... Are you sure ? Remember that Rice is very ambiguos in his songs! He is Catholic and maybe he want say Rod for say "reason for his life" and fishing for say "fishing a way for go out"! Maybe it's my interpration and is wrong! I'm not English but I translate this! =)
