04.27.07: Give Back

Here are some thoughts on this week's American Idol and their "American Idol Gives Back" themed show, where they raised over $70 million for poverty in Africa as well as in the United States. I also talk about my thoughts on Bono's Product {Red} Campaign and what we can do to make the world a better place.

the best way to donate is by buying a thing and a lil of it goes to charity. i dont think people donate to charity on a basis as much as buying t shirts. and the funda of it is we get something for the charity we do.

It's one of many good ways! I bought myself a little product RED iPod shuffle a few weeks ago -- I love that product red campaign. Cool products and it goes to a good cause! :)

One way to help change the world is instead of attacking someone over something, ask them questions in such a way that they question themselves about their thoughts, words and deeds... plant a seed of reason... 8-)

I'm learning as I get older that if you go into a situation with a complaint or criticism without reason or a solution, that you just add to the problem. Ones approach to another person, and saying, "Hey, why do you feel that way and let's look at it from your perspecive" is a hard thing to do, but amazingly beneficial.

LOL...I have to admit, I used to watch Knots Landing when I was a kid..with my mom. Wasn't Lisa Hartman a rock star on there? And then did she get killed and come back as an entirely different character? Oddly enough, William DeVane is on 24 now and Nicolette Sheridan is on one of the hottest shows on tv!

Being a teacher will be one of the greatest things you can do for society. (Other than maybe get Lisa Hartman back into the limelight again (grrrrr))

Gosh, I had over 15,000 comics (started collecting in 2nd grade) before I stopped collecting! Yeah, those shiny red iPods look pretty cool. Capitalistic American, huh? :)

seriously though, these people always have the best of intentions, you can only hope that the money gets through to the people that need it. oh, and I have a sizeable commic collection myself, I had stop collecting when I ran out of space and found I didn't have the time to read them!

Oh yes I remember my mom talking to my grandfather about that. I was to young to understand, All I new at the time was I loved the song.lol. sad but true! Well the same thing happned w/ the Katrina vics if you remember w/ red cross. But Lets all have good thoughts about this one, and yes the Gov in Africa has been known to put their hands in the cookie jar 1st!
