Driving with me in my 1959 Cadillac Sedan de Ville Flattop. Up front, again the 1959 Lincoln Continental. A 1959 Cadillac Coupe de Ville is behind us.

  • Beautiful car. I have the exact same car. do u still have it?

  • Yes I still have the car. I drive it occasionally, but the weather isn't all that great in the netherlands :-(

How is your ride? Still running like a charm?

  • I'm curious. I noticed you following a 58 Lincoln. Did you have a chance to ride in it too? If you did, what were your impressions? Did you think it rode better? Worse? Have more/less comfortable seats? I'm dying to know.

  • I coudn't make a fair comparisson between both cars. The Cadillac was suited with radial tires and the Lincoln with the classic diagonal tires. It's mostly the tires that make the difference.

However, I sold the Cadillac and I bought a 1956 Coupe deVille. That car drives more like a bathtub. The 59 Caddy is much lower than the Lincoln, so my guess is that the caddy has a better handling. But I rather buy a car for the looks. younger cars drive better but are less fun and hardly any beautiful

  • Fabulous. I have a '58 Lincoln. Love that shot of the '59 pulling ahead. And your panoramavistaview shot back over the hood, into and across the interior, and out over the trunk to the Cadillac coming up from behind -- all in one clean sweep. Do it again.

  • Yes, That '59 Lincoln is indeed an exellent looking car. Will count for all of our cars. This particular day we went to a Rock 'n Roll meeting in Rosmalen (The Netherlands). My sister also made a professional 20 minute video. I'll ask her to cut that video up for me. So I post that on Youtube as well. It will show lots of ultimate highway driving of the Lincoln and the Coupe de Ville.

But your '58 is something special as well. Will you send me a picture?

    Best regards,

    Wouter Kloosterman

  • does your cadillac have a radio with cd or cassette player???

  • Sweet car

  • You don't see many of those 59 Caddy 4 door flat tops here in the states. There seems to be a lot more 2 door "bubble tops". I don't think they made a two door flat top. I've never seen one. I personally like the 4 door flat top better. Maybe just because they are more rare here in the states. The flat tops were probably fewer in number to begin with and also suffered a higher junk yard rate than the more collectible 2 door '59 caddys which were more worth saving.

  • It's like driving around in a flat! The space in there is just unbeliveable!!

  • just what i was thinking on too!

  • you can't find that comfort and space in todays so called luxury cars...

  • I love the 1959 cadillac flat top sedan. The rear window is just beautiful. The 1959 chevy and the 1960 cadllac flat top sedans had very similar back windows. Unfortunately GM ruined it with the 1961 cadillac.
