@hblaisauce the narrator in the movie addresses that, he says something like to this day he still has no idea what those two ladies were singing about, but it doesn't matter.

I realy dont understand that some people are continusly misusing this commentar Site and Platform for wort raffting and atacking eachother for nonscence.the people who have no idea and logical thinking,to comment or write some nice words about a musik pice is 1000 times better to be quiet.ther is a nice discribing Slang word, that says,(to talk and say something is worth like a pice of Silver, but to be quiet is Worth like Gold). Thanks evreyboy

Why is music forbidden within prison walls? It gives everyone inside a peace of mind and hope, takes away all the bad things and fills with good, not something prison is created for. But then you could listen for a while just to have peace of mind for a while. Trouble = Yes. Worth It = Yes. Piece of mind that tells you that you can forget things for a while and dream and imagine greatness = Yes

This song is a fantastic addition to the whole soundtrack of the movie. Its the one of those movies that where the music works with the story and characters as one.

i find it funny because this piece is actually a duet between a countess and susanna. susanna is writing a letter to the countess's person of interest telling him to meet the countess in the garden. the whole way through it's just the countess telling susanna what to write. it's completely irrelevant to the scene in shawshank. but i think that's what's so beautiful; they had no idea what this song was truly about and how kind of silly it is in context, but for those moments it didn't matter.
Thank you so much for taking the time to upload this treasure.
