@alana2you should would work fine, but you'd probably need to widen the frame to accomodate the potatoes growth. I'd say about 50cm should do. I'd be interested to learn how it goes! Best of luck!

Here is my proof that Wallace and Gromit are not totally fiction. Its a lovely system, enthusiastically built and generously shared. I wonder if there is a way to have the background dark plastic look a bit more invisible? Or a bit more soil-like. Hessian? Id love a sketch of your system, a blueprint. Your cat is good looking too.

He He, yup "Grommit away!......" aye lad! My next version will likely have green polythene, but hessian is a good idea too, but with plastic behind i think, or the watering will go everywhere. I like the idea of the natural surface though. maybe straw matting?.....
