Ambassador Robert Portman, Former Director, Office of Management and Budget, participates in a panel on Building a Better, Safer World, moderated by Nina Easton, Washington Bureau Chief, Fortune. This panel was cosponsored with Center for U.S. Global Engagement. Other panelists included Senator Joe Lieberman (ID-CT), Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee; Former National Security Advisor Robert C. (Bud) McFarlane; and Ambassador Richard Williamson, Special Envoy to Sudan.

This excerpt is part of a series of remarkable panels conducted at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs in September 2008 during the Republican Convention. The panels brought together leading policy makers and observers to debate a wide range of challenges facing the country.

  • Biggest joke of a USTR ever. Nice job moving the rest of the jobs overseas. You have created a booming economy here in Ohio. You and John Boehner are as worthless as they come. You are truly a spineless little weasle. They should just get rid of the USTR job since a USTR effectively does nothing. That would lower my taxes.
