Poitier was the better actor and should've won, same with his performance in A Patch Of Blue, The Defiant Ones, and Guess Who's Coming To Dinner.

One of the best casted movies I've ever seen. O'Connor and Poitier were perfect selections for their roles. Ray Charles and the theme music were superb.
