  • Yes, they were fake. Not real geisha. Most likely tourists. Real geisha don't act that way in public posing and laughing. When on the street they are usually hurrying to and from their appointments.

  • Maiko are also seen wearing zori.

  • @tornados28 yes and i noticed they also dont wear four inch sandals XD

  • FAKE not being rude

  • Maiko can choose whether they would like to wear okobo or zori to work, also black okobo are worn to special occasions too ^^

  • It wasn' real geisha. For first t was (probably) maiko but not a real maiko. That was a japan tourists who were dressing like maiko coz' they didn't wear okobo (special sandals)

  • Incorrect. Go to flickr - you will find dozens of maiko wearing zori to go to work or entertain.

  • Yes, but when they are not at work or in other special situations

  • Well, I think they're not real Maiko (aprentice of Geisha). Maybe, henshin maiko (persons who go to a studio to be dressed as maiko or geisha)...

I think this because of her way of walk and because they not wear Okobo (a kind of shoe that only maiko use).

    Bye!

    Yukiguni.
