  • @yur1bgw9i THey are rectangular and kind of small. Look at this video. Its the same one as this:

    /watch?v=l__8SqmZWZ4

  • @libertyfalls - John, when you say the Red caps...are those the ones that resemble the Orange drops shape-wise?

  • @libertyfalls - You mean the little round, circular ceramic caps? You are saying that you solder one cap per tone knob therefore utilizing 2 of them? Is that what you are saying?

  • @yur1bgw9i We use what Mayer uses. CTS 250k pots with your regular cheap standard Fender .022k red caps. THe wiring is different on the black1. He has an alternate grounding setup and a dual cap setup. THe magic is in the pickups.

  • @libertyfalls - John, Hey man what kind of tone caps do you use in the John Mayer relic you guys make? You tone is so awesome and I know that the correct tone cap is essential. What kind and what value do you suggest for the JM sound (not taking into consideration any of the pedals or the amp) - I am referring to just the plain, clean tone - do you prefer Russian paper in oil caps, Orange drops, ceramic discs??? - What? And which value? .022 / .033 / .047??? Which one is your preferred one?

  • @stratocasterrelic We source the necks and bodies from a small company that employs some of the best craftsmen in the world. THe bodies and necks are licensed fender replacement but nowhere makes them as well as these guys. So we dont chop down the tree and process the wood but we get the bodies and necks as raw wood parts and take it from there. Saves us a lot of time and yields a better product.

  • @libertyfalls Do you machine the body and neck yourself or is it parts put together?

  • @stratocasterrelic $1500 is dirt cheap for a top of the line custom built stratocaster.

  • @libertyfalls Not to be rude but why do they cost so much? Its as much as a second hand custom shop.

  • @stratocasterrelic Guitars start out at $1500. THis one had a premium birdseye maple neck so it cost $1850.
