C'mon, we all know that if your DF'd or DA'd NO ONE talks to you about ANYTHING, and if they saw you stranded on the side of the raod in the rain they'd drive right on by! If JW's feel that what they are doing is so righteous and in accord with the bible then just admit it already! If its right then whats the problem?? Why are we mincing words and dancing around the truth??!!

he is mincing words, "custody packet"... basically is printed information made available at any level throughout JWs to assist in custody trials on how parents and children can prepare. I would have been ideal if he could find printed excerpts online and ask the elder to say if any of that looked familiar to him.

Cross Lawyer asked all the wrong questions. Unfamiliar with JW doctrine.
I personally know this Elder. I worked for him for over 6 years in SLC. He was an in-your-face arrogant person who does not practice what he preaches. It does not surprise me that most all the comments are calling his statements twisted. He says one thing but does what he wants. He hurt many people when he was an IT manager. I would not trust what he says because I had to endure his abuse. I'm not a member of the JWs but just had dealings with him outside his church.

This Elder lies thru a twist of truth. I was raised JW and I know that the congregations are indeed taught not to associate and to disect themselves from the fallen or disfellowshiped ones out of fear that they too fall to the same fate from the organization. It is made very clear that the elders are the ones who deal with punished ones, or in my case, the fallen. Its been 18 years since an elder knocked on my spiritual door and asked me back. He said they check on them once a year.
