O duniya ke rakhwale - 1952 film Baiju Bawra. Singer: Mohommad Rafi in an old live TV recording. Lyrics by Shakeel Badayuni. Music by Naushad Ali following Darbari raag. Music consultant Amir Khan. Stars: Bharat Bhushan, Meena Kumari. Legend revised by Ramchandra Thakur. Screenplay by R.S. Choudhury. Dialogues by Zia Sarhadi. Producer: Prakash Pictures. Director: Vijay Bhatt. Lyricist Shakeel Badayuni, the great composer Naushad Ali, and the legendary great singer singer Mohamad Rafi made this Hindu bhajan and this movie one of the best films. Many inspiring singers learn from such classical superhits and evergreen gems. The legendary singer Mohammed Rafi (1924-1980) still continues to entertain millions around the world. Surely, he justly and rightly deserves more honours for his selfless contributions to the Bollywood film and entertainment industry. Under-rated, under-paid Mohammed Rafi was honoured with the "best singer of the millennium" by Hero Honda and Stardust magazine in Mumbai on 07 January 2001, over twenty years after Rafi passed away in July 1980. There would be no film songs or ghazals, singers or even screenplays and superstars without lyricists and writers. Why not give full due credit to the poor lyricists first, and also to the comparatively super-rich music composers, producers and directors? Only the best lyricists, musicians and singers perform for http://www.youtube.com/spsyed live shows, mehfils, ghazal nights...

Lyrics:

Bhagvan (one of Hindu cults gods),
Oh duniya ke rakhwale,
Oh, the world keeper,
Sun dard bhare mere naale,
Listen to my painful pleas,
Oh duniya ke rakhwale,
Oh, the world keeper,
Aash niraash ke dho rangom se,
Dhuniya thu ne sajaayee,
You made the world with two colours,
Of hope and hopelessness,
Nayya sang thoofaan banaaya,
You made sea with storms,
Milan ke saath judayi,
Made meeting alongwith separation,
Ja dhekliya har jayee,
Go away, I have seen your tricks,
Lut gaye mere pyar ki nagri,
My love world has been snatched,
Ab tho neer bahale,
Now you may shed tears,
Oh dhuniya ke rakhwale
Oh, the world keeper,
Aag bani saavan ki barkha,
Monsoon rain has turned in fire,
Phool bane angare,
Flowers turned into fireballs,
Nagan ban gayee rath suhani,
Night turned into nightmare of snakes,
Pathar ban gaye thare,
Stars turned into stones,
Sub toot chuke he sahare,
Support has crumbled away,
Jeevan apnaa vaapas lele,
Take away my life,
Jeevan dene wale,
The life creator,
Oh dhuniya ke rakhwale,
Oh, the world keeper,
Chaand ko dhonde pagal suraj,
The mad sun is seeking out the moon,
Shaam ko dhoonde saveira,
The evening is seeking out the morning,
Mein bhi dhoondoon us preetham ko,
I am also seeking that beloved,
Ho na saka jo mera,
Who did not become mine,
Bhagvan bhala ho thera,
May god bless you!
Kismat phootti, aasna tootti,
Fate shattered, hope broken,
Paon mein par gaye chaale,
Feet got blisters,
Oh duniya ke rakhwale,
Oh, the world keeper,
Aaaa Aaaa. Aaaa.
Mehfil udhas aur galian sooni,
The party is sad, and alleys deserted,
Chup chup he deewaarein,
The walls are silent,
Dil kya ujra duniya ujre,
As the heart broke, the world destroyed,
Rooth gayein hein baharein,
Springs are displeased,
Hum jeeven kaise guzarein,
How would we live on,
Mandir girta phir ban jatha,
Temple is destroyed, and rebuilt,
Dil ko kaun sambhale,
Who will support the heart,
Oh duniya ke rakhwale
Oh, the world keeper,
Sun dard bhare mere naale,
Listen to my painful pleas,
Sun dard bhare mere naale,
Oh duniya ke rakhwale,
Oh, the world keeper,
Rakhwale.....
The keeper,
Rakhwale.....
The keeper,
Rakhwale.....

  • Rafi sahib passed away 30 years ago (30 July 1980), but his legend lives on as his voice still continues to entertain and amaze millions around the world. No one replace humble, modest and pious Rafi sahib who changed Indian film playback and music industry forever. He is a book on how to sing. His playback voice changed the fate of many Indian film actors and made them superstars of their time. I feel honoured to have met him, be his family's neighbour in London-UK. RIP Mohammed Rafi.

  • It is humanly impossible to attach any description to the voice of Rafi Saheb;words fall distantly short and the mind goes blank.Don't even try.
