I'm not advocating this poaching because it is WRONG. But seriously, if the poachers were even remotely smart they would remove the horn the way the camp does it allowing it to grow back and not kill the rhino. Then they would have a growing supply of money.

you demonize these poachers sitting high and mighty on your ass blaming it all on them. when their only a small part of the problem, its people who demand the horns, animal parts, etc. if the demand was gone then the poachers wouldnt poach, they dont poach just cause they want to, they poach for money.

Rhino Horn is made from Keratin, the same thing that our nails are made off,... why kill a Rhino?? China and other countries ought to know that by now!

@helpanna Actually, sorry to correct you, but that would be subspecies of Javan Rhino you are talking about, not species: there are 5 species of rhinos and the Javan Rhino (including all 3 of its subspecies, one of which is extinct) is one of them.

Holy Crap! I just read that one rhino horn can sell for over $60,000 a kilo!

If you were a starving african living in a dirt hut with no elctricity, no water and a family to provide for and you saw a rhino, i bet you would shoot it to.
