  • Very nice. No one would notice your 'mistakes' if you hadn't mentioned them in the description. What manner of harpsichord are you playing on?

Additionally, I'd speed it up a bit. His tempo marking is 'vivement', and that generally means rather quickly. But, very nice overall.

  • Well, I used to play it very quickly, but in my harpsichord, which is german and with a very rich sound, I just think it sounds better this way. Thanks for your comment.

  • @FenderStratoccaster I WOULD CHECK OUT A PUBLIC LIBRARY...A BIG ONE

  • I liked this "finger-view"! And you made this piece sound in a very good manner! Congratulations!

  • Hello, This cover sounds beautiful Love it, My question is where do i get the notes?, Can i download them or buy them,? I`ve been looking all over the internet for ages, And i really appreciate if you help me here UtReMiFaSolLaSiDo, I really love this song, And would love to play it someday.

  • You are perfectly correct! It sounds absolutely wonderful this way. Let's agree that "vivement" is a relative term.

  • Very nice! The tempo is just fine given the resonance of your instrument and your treatment of the piece makes those false endings very tantalising. Alexandre Tharaud played this on the piano recently in London and he was not much faster than you!

Will you tell us more about your harpsichord??

  • Interesting played slower. Brings out the harmonies more. Who really today owns

the law of tempos. Couperin isn´t alive to ask. It still can be a lovely piece at quicker tempos. Nicely done.

  • this tempo really brings out the tonal qualities of the piece not easily heard when played up to speed... delightful

  • Good job. Let's hear some more! Also you might tell us about your harpsichord.

  • Beautiful!
