If you plug your guitar into your amp, and you hear a buzzing noise, then your problem is probably from the jack. Just follow these directions, and it should work.

  • that buzzing stops when u change the pickup selector. that sound is distortion :P

  • @ResidentEvlLovR No, distortion is not the sound quiet buzzing sound from the amp when you dont breed pickups. The actual problem in this video was that the actual jack wasnt hooked up. it came undone, and had to be reattached

  • I have a problem. My amp doesnt work. It turns on and the red light comes on. My guitar only has 2 strings right now. Then I used my neighbor's guitar which is perfectly fine, but the amp still doesnt work. There is no noise coming out. How can I fix this?

  • @TheHarlingenLegend It sounds like its your cord

  • Blind leading the blind I'm afraid. 60 cycle hum is what you're referring to here. AND it can be caused by a myriad of things. The most probable being a missing ground or cold solder on a ground connection almost anywhere in the signal path. It is true however that the output jack represents a high percentage of failures of this type.

For further info Google "guitar 60 cycle hum".

  • Everytime i plug my guitar in my amplifier and then i turn it on, well, i need to like move the cord and like play with it for a while before sounds comes out for the distortion OR the clean sound. Anyone can tell me what is this about and how can i fix it? Somebody told me it was to do with the connector the plug goes in, he said that maybe it doesnt touch the place that the cord(or jack as he called it?) needs to be touched at? I dont know if you're following me, but if so please reply or msg!

  • I HAVE THAT SCREWDRIVER :D

  • AMPS DO THAT ANYWAY

  • am i evil? yes i am.. nice!

  • mine

  • i have an issue with mie ,it has a horrible buzzing sound and i wasnt even touching it i moved the pickup selector and it still doing the same where is it comming from

  • you are the gangliest player ive ever seen lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love people who make videos like this for one problem, and try and make it seem like a cure all. There's a LOT more variables than just a crappy wiring job. xD

  • @comptonking4587

Make sure the wires are soldered. Simply tying them won't work properly..

Your guitar might not be grounded properly, also.

Remember: Every amp and guitar will have hum or buzz, especially if you're using overdrive or distortion channels.
