Both versions of this song are great, but I still lean a little more in favor of the second part original early 70's version that I was brought up on...Both are great!!...Friends, Lloyd.

aaahhh, thnx so much for posting this! never heard phil's original version before - so beautiful! can certainly see why allan felt he had some big shoes to fill!! excellent example of how the hollies can take someone else's song and make it their own without taking anything away from the original.

Beautiful song, both versions. Phil Everly's actually pre-dated that of the Hollies by several months, I believe. Phil Everly harmonizing with his own lead cannot be beat by anyone, IMO....Great interpretation, arrangement, and the drums on that arrangement! Though I do love the Hollies, too, with its guitar solo. Just a wonderful song. Great post - thanks, Erik, for presenting both lovely versions! It will be on my page tomorrow!
