The Diary of Anne Frank - Portrait of Alfred Newman

What a pleasure it is to see that Alfred is finally getting his recognition in detail as being one of the very greatest film composers. Almost 40 years after his death, it's been a long time coming. I think he is often strangely overlooked, probably because he did so much, and because he did it ALL, and so wonderfully well.

Great director that he was, Stevens nevertheless later did Alfred a great disservice by compromising his profound score to 'The Greatest Story Ever Told'.
