Since 1995, Touro Law Center has honored its alumni as well as other distinguished members of the community at the annual "With Liberty & Justice for All" Dinner Celebration. This year the dinner was held on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at the Garden City Hotel.
For this year's event, Touro Law Center honored 18 individuals who are the charter members of the Builders Society. The Builders Society was created to recognize and celebrate those individuals who have been an integral part of the Touro Law Center Community. The Law Center was founded in 1980 in Manhattan, and moved to Huntington in 1982. In January of 2007, Touro Law Center moved into its new building located on a campus working with and adjacent to both the federal and state court houses in Central Islip. This new location has enabled Touro Law to expand the classroom into the courtroom and broaden the spectrum of legal education today. Our innovative Court Collaborative program is thriving, our in-house clinics continue to help members of the surrounding communities, and our William Randolph Hearst Public Advocacy Center is helping legal advocacy groups and those they serve. The Builders Society honors those individuals who have helped us to both develop and realize the dream of becoming a truly integrated law campus.
Those honored at the event include:
Dean Emeritus Howard Glickstein, Touro Law Center;
Harry Greenberg, Esq. '84, Greenberg Burzichelli Greenberg P.C.;
Bruce K. Gould, '84, Sunshine Publishers, Touro Law Center Board of Governors;
Dr. Mark Hasten, Chair, Touro College Board of Trustees;
Hon. James J. Lack, New York State Court of Claims (ret.), Touro Law Center Board of Governors;

Howard Stein, Esq., Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP, Chair of the Touro Law Center Board of Governors;
and the Hon. Sol Wachtler, Former Chief Judge, New York State Court of Appeals, Touro Law Center Board of Governors.
Those honored at the dinner posthumously include:
Hon. Jacob D. Fuchsberg, Associate Judge of the New York Court of Appeals and founder of the Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Firm;

Dr. Bernard Lander, Founder & First President of Touro College and Touro Law Center Board of Governors;
and Barbara Salzman, Esq. '91, Barbara Salzman P.C. and Touro Law Center Board of Governors.
"Each of these individuals has shown a deep commitment to Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center over the years and it is most appropriate to celebrate them together as the inaugural class of the Touro Law Center Builders Society and honor them at the Liberty and Justice Dinner," said Dean Lawrence Raful. "I am proud to celebrate these friends and alumni of Touro Law who have shown dedication to the success of Touro Law as an institute, but of greater importance they have shown the same passion for the success of each student that passes through our doors. It is an honor and promises to be a great event."
Co-chairs for this year's dinner were Lawrence Raful, Dean and Professor of Law at Touro Law Center and Seymour Liebman, Esq., '89, President of Canon Information and Imaging Solutions and Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel for Canon U.S.A. Funds raised will help support Touro Law Center programs and student scholarships.
Special thanks to North Shore Architectural Stone for their work in helping us create a lasting tribute at the law center for our builders society members.
