Don't get me wrong, this is one of my top 3 favorite Jay songs, but Reasonable Doubt wasn't seen as a classic until Jay said it was.His Stans took it and ran with it.

@ovafiend Back then, Jay z was looked at as a 2nd tier rapper in the game.The style he came with was already being mastered & dominated by Biggie Smalls.
Nobody considered his songs classic or potentially classic back then.He didn't have a lane.Like i said, the market he was trying to tap into was being dominated by B.I.G.......And Jay wasn't really on that conscious or gangsta rap shit that was hot at the time.He was stuck in limbo.Biggie dying really benefited Jay.He filled the void & blew up
